Ringnecks

The Indian Ringneck is part of the parakeet family.  Their native lands include Burma, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan and the Rameswaram Island.

They measure around 16 inches in length.  Ringnecks live in the wild as groups.

Ringnecks are easy to teach and tame. They are social birds therefore socialization and regular handling is needed to maintain a tamed Ringneck.  If they are not given proper attention they can become unfriendly and nippy.  They need plenty of toys to keep them stimulated – chew toys are a must.

The average lifespan of an Indian Ringneck in captivity is between 25 and 30 years.

Their beautiful colors contribute to their popularity as pets.
